Lockout/Tagout

29 CFR 1910.147

As promulgated by OSHA standard 29-CFR-1910.147(c)(7)(i)(iv), the employer shall provide training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control programs are understood by employees and that the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage and removal of energy controls training shall include:

• OSHA standard
• Training requirements
• Recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources
• The purpose and use of Energy Control Procedures
• Both locks and tags
• OSHA-Six step procedure:
  1. Preparation for shutdown
  2. Shutdown equipment
  3. Isolation
  4. Lockout/Tagout
  5. Control of stored engery
  6. Verification
• Removing Lockout/Tagout
• Special Situations

Length: 2 hrs.
